New Warehouse for Catering24

Catering24 have agreed a deal with Clowes Developments for the development of a state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Ilkeston after doubling in size since the start of the pandemic.

Thursday 6th January marked the official ground-breaking ceremony at the brand-new industrial park located off Manners Industrial Estate in Ilkeston.

Members of the successful family run business, together with the construction company TanRo, agent Richard Sutton of NG Chartered Surveyors and the lead developers from Clowes Developments, congregated on site in minus temperatures to celebrate the official start of construction works.

Charlie Dean, Managing Director at Catering24 commented on the occasion,

“The site is really starting to take shape and we can already see where the different components of our facility will be. It’s interesting, as we start to see the footings being plotted out we realise the scale and scope of our new premises – its very exciting and we are looking forward to tracking the progress on site over the next few months.”

At the end of 2021, Clowes Developments announced that Catering24 had agreed a lease for the brand-new purpose-built warehouse and distribution facility at Etiquette Park. The deal marks significant expansion for the food packaging distributor who have doubled their turnover in the past 18 months. Catering24 has the option to purchase the property within the first 2 years which Catering24 aim to do and represents a total investment in the warehouse, equipment, racking and IT software to the sum of £2.8million.

Richard Sutton, Managing Director at NG Chartered Surveyors and joint agent on the scheme, said:

“It's fantastic to see work starting on Etiquette Park and I'm proud of our involvement in the bespoke scheme by Clowes Developments.

Letting over 50,000 sq ft of space shows just what a quality development Etiquette Park is, and I wish both Catering24 and the other soon to be announced occupier all the very best in their new homes.

I've very much enjoyed working alongside Tim Gilbertson at FHP on securing these deals and I'm looking forward to seeing Etiquette Park developed out to its full potential."

Planning permission for the 27,249sq ft warehouse was approved by Erewash Borough Council at the later end of last year and TanRo is now underway with the construction. Caterind24’s bespoke 27,249sq ft facility will be the larger of two brand new facilities which will sit within a secure complex and comprise of a steel portal frame single storey warehouse with integral two storey offices. The property will benefit from a secure service yard, 40 car parking spaces, 8m haunch height, 2 level access loading doors, 3 phase power supply and EV charging points.

The second occupier looking to relocated to Etiquette Park is expected to be announced within a matter of weeks. Both occupiers are scheduled to move into their brand new premises later this year.
